Karl Lagerfeld, also known for owning an impressive library is ready to launch “a perfume that smells like books!”
“Paper Passion, which will be sold inside a hardcover book with the pages hollowed out to hold the flacon, will be developed with Berlin perfumer Geza Schön”.
According to Times Live, European publisher Steidl will work with Lagerfeld on this project. Steidl has distributed most of Lagerfeld’s photography books.
Apparently, Steidl supplied Schon with samples of printed and unprinted paper to help with the formulation of the new perfume.
There are several paper-inspired fragrances on the market, including Demeter’s Paperback, Zadig & Voltaire’s Tome 1, or Hammam Bouquet by Penhaligons.
