Coach Pre-Fall 2014 campaign

Roch Barbot, a rising star on the men’s fashion scene, was chosen by the American luxury brand as the face of its upcoming Pre-Fall 2014 campaign.

Shot in New York, the campaign features Roch Barbot showing off new pieces from the COACH Fall-Winter 2014-2015 collection.

The charismatic Frenchman poses with several leather men’s bags in front of the Big Apple’s iconic skyline.

Although he has yet to become a household name, Roch Barbot is one of the most sought after male models at the moment. He has posed for Lacoste, H&M and Giorgio Armani in addition to walking the runway for Prada.

Adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade

Caroline Wozniacki is the face of Adidas by Stella McCartney Barricade for Spring-Summer 2014. The collection is designed to fuse fashion with cutting-edge athletic apparel design.

The Barricade line comes in a yellow, white and aqua colored palette with tangerine stripes, and pieces include separate shorts (and skirt-short hybrid ‘skorts’), tops and dresses, plissé skirts, and oversized practice t-shirts. The collection aslo features Adidas ClimaCool technology for on-court ventilation.

The new Stella McCartney Barricade Spring Summer 2014 shoes have been shown off by both players at the ongoing Australian Open.

WATCH: Balmain and Rihanna behind the scenes

Balmain has revealed some behind the scenes shots of its latest campaign, which features pop star Rihanna. Three new videos released by Balmain show the atmosphere on set as the fashion brand created its Spring-Summer 2014 campaign.

“I’m really thrilled that we have Rihanna for this campaign” explained creative director Olivier Rousteing, who decided to create the collection around her after the popstar visited the Balmain studio. “She’s powerful, she knows how to mix beauty, she’s boyish, she’s strong, she’s the new icon,” he added.

Styled by Mel Ottenberg and shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Rihanna also appears in the videos. The 25-year-old was excited about the collaboration: “Balmain has been a brand that I’ve loved for so long, and now to actually get to work with them, it’s brilliant.”

Makeup duties were carried out by Yadim, who decided to focus on the singer’s own beauty: “We kept it really natural; the clothes are so amazing that you don’t really need any gimmicks.”

Balenciaga confirms Alexander Wang as new designer

PPR has named Alexander Wang creative director of its Balenciaga fashion and accessories brand to replace Nicolas Ghesquière, who quit last month.

“Balenciaga and PPR are pleased to announce the appointment of Alexander Wang to the post of Creative Director of the Balenciaga fashion house, as of today,” said a joint statement from Balenciaga and its owner, the PPR luxury group.

One of the hottest names in US fashion, Wang will be responsible for designing the brand’s women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections, as well as for Balenciaga’s image, the text said.

The 28-year-old, born in California to Taiwanese parents, will continue with his independent New York-based house, turning out relaxed chic with a streetwise edge, alongside his new duties at Balenciaga.

“I am deeply honoured to embark on this new role for a brand and house that I have such great admiration and respect for,” Wang was quoted as saying in the statement.

PPR took the fashion world by surprise last month by announcing the departure of Ghesquiere, its designer of 15 years, who put the house founded by Spaniard Cristobal Balenciaga in 1919 back on the fashion map in his time there.

Isabelle Guichot, Balenciaga’s chief executive, paid tribute in the statement to Wang’s “proven talent, modernity and individual and cosmopolitan vision of design.”

She predicted he would “naturally embrace and enrich the unique heritage of this fashion house which will soon be one hundred years old.”

PPR, whose fashion labels include Gucci, Yves Saint-Laurent, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney has owned Balenciaga since 2001.

Turnover had been multiplied by 11 since the house was acquired by PPR, with two-figure growth for the first nine months of this year.

Industry experts suggested the choice of Wang, who speaks Mandarin and whose own-name brand has been pushing into Asia, could signal a willingness to focus on the vast Chinese market, building on PPR’s strong presence in the region.

Louis Vuitton has revealed a preview of its new campaign fronted by Arizona Muse. The full campaign shot by Inez & Vinoodh will release Nov. 11 on the LV website.

Flashing images of a key, a trunk and Da Vinci’s famous portrait of Mona Lisa, the 10-second teaser shows Arizona Muse carrying a version of the Speedy bag in the dramatic setting of Paris’s Louvre museum.

Bottega Veneta has unveiled a video providing viewers with an insight into the concept behind its Fall/Winter 2012 campaign shot by photographer Erwin Olaf.

Model Aymeline Valade stars in the ads, while Dutch photographer Olaf, who has a background in journalism, was behind the lens.

In keeping with the label’s Art of Collaboration project, which sees it team up with new and different artists each season, Bottega Veneta showcases the photographer at work in the new film.

Previous artists to have been showcased by the label include Alex Prager for Spring/Summer 2011 and Jack Pierson for Spring/Summer 2012.

Bottega Veneta creative director Tomas Maier has nothing but praise for Olaf.

“Erwin perfectly captured the sensibility of the collection,” he explains. “He also added an unexpected narrative that makes the campaign especially rich.”

Update: French luxury accessories label Louis Vuitton has released a behind-the-scenes video for its new Fall/Winter 2012-2013 campaign.

Louis Vuitton’s fall 2012 campaign takes direction from the runway show with an image set onboard a train featuring new faces photographed by Steven Meisel.

“We wanted to continue the journey we started with the fashion show — the glamour of travel and the romance of going somewhere,” Marc Jacobs explained.

To do so, the train was deconstructed and shipped to a New York studio where it was rebuilt, filled with models, and photographed by Steven Meisel.

In addition to showing how the campaign was created, the video features Marc Jacobs explaining the choices behind the visuals.

Chanel launching face stickers

Chanel’s Cruise collection at Versailles earlier this week didn’t disappoint in the beauty stakes, and now fashionistas will be able to recreate the Marie Antoinette-inspired aesthetic with the launch of Chanel logo beauty spot stickers.

For Monday’s runway show, Chanel’s creative director of makeup Peter Philips adorned models’ cheekbones with black velvet Chanel logo beauty spots.

Style.com reports that the stickers recreating the effect will be available for sale in an upcoming line called Collection Versailles de Chanel.

“Last minute I added a subtle highlight with Mouche de Beauté,” said Philips, explaining the customized highlighter, a bold pink eyeshadow and CC stickers will form the forthcoming beauty set.

Chanel has previously enjoyed success with a collection of temporary jewelry-like tattoos inspired by Chanel symbols, cherry blossoms, and birds.
