Some of the new designs will incorporate Bionic Yarn, a product of the Vortex Project, Williams’s environmental textiles initiative with Parley for the Oceans, which recycles plastic ocean debris into useable fabrics.
This is by no means the first high-profile collaboration for Pharrell, who is currently working on a unisex fragrance for Comme des Garçons as well as creating a line of limited edition t-shirts with Uniqlo due out next month.
The musician’s Bionic Yarn fabric is about to be used in an upcoming collaborative fashion range with G-Star, set to hit stores on August 15.
Previous Adidas Originals collaborations have included Jeremy Scott, Nigo, and recently, British high street fashion brand Topshop.
